From Where's mom, now that I need her cookbook. I made these one time while we were camping and my husband almost freaked because these were the exact pancakes his German grandmother used to make. I don't know if they are German or not, but they are the best! Ingredients:
2 eggs, well beaten |
1/2 cup milk |
1/2 cup flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 cup applesauce |
powdered sugar, if desired |
Directions:
1. Heat applesauce in small pan, keep warm. 2. Mix eggs and milk. 3. Add flour, salt and sugar. 4. Beat until smooth. 5. Grease a small frying pan and heat until hot. 6. Pour 1/4 cup batter into the pan. 7. Tip pan quickly until batter covers bottom of pan. 8. Turn and brown slightly on other side. 9. Remove from pan. 10. Spread with 1/4 cup applesauce and roll. 11. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired. |
