This is DD's favorite pie. The topping makes this pie wonderful. If you are looking for that different dessert to take to potluck, picnics for family gatherings give this a try. Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups applesauce |
1 cup raisins |
1 cup brown sugar |
2 tablespoons butter |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
3 eggs |
1/4 cup sugar |
1/4 cup flour |
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon |
2 tablespoons butter, softened |
Directions:
1. Cook applesauce, raisins and brown sugar slowly for 20 minutes. 2. Add butter and salt. 3. Cool. 4. Beat eggs and add to mixture. 5. Pour into pie shell. 6. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes. 7. Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon and softened butter with a pastry blender. 8. Sprinkle on top. 9. Continue to bake another 20 minutes or until golden brown. 10. Cool before serving. |
