These are the easiest do-nuts I've ever found. They taste so good when they're fresh!! Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour |
1/3 cup sugar |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon ginger |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/2 cup applesauce or 1/2 cup canned pumpkin |
1/4 cup milk |
2 tablespoons oil |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1 egg |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
oil (for deep frying at 375f) |
Directions:
1. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar and next 5 ingredients. 2. Combine pumpkin, milk, oil, vanilla, and eggs. 3. Stir into dry ingredients. 4. Drop by teaspoons, into hot oil, 5 or 6 at a time. 5. Fry 1/12 to 2 minutes on each side until golden brown. 6. Drain on paper towel. 7. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a paper bag. 8. Shake drops in this mixture while warm. |
