These make me think of my grandmother. They are great any time, and they are a great way to use up leftover apple sauce. Ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1 1/4 cups applesauce |
2 1/2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon clove |
1 cup raisins |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Cream margarine and sugar. Add eggs and applesauce blending well. 2. Add dry ingredients and fold in raisins and nuts. 3. Chill 1 hour. 4. Bake on greased cookie sheet 350° for( 10-15 minutes do not over cook-cookies should be slightly moist looking on top). |
