For all the applesauce cake lovers. Ingredients:
1/2 c. butter |
1 c. sugar |
1 c. applesauce (canned) |
1/2 c. raisins |
2 c. flour |
1 tsp. cinnamon |
1/2 tsp. nutmeg |
1/2 tespoon cloves |
1 1/2 tsp. soda |
1/2 c. nuts (any kind desired) |
Directions:
1. Cake: 2. Cream butter and sugar; heat applesauce and add, with raisins to sugar mixture and cool. 3. Sift dry ingredients together and slowly beat into applesauce mixture, then add nuts; pour into greased 8 x 8 in pan (square). 4. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. 5. ===================================================== 6. Buttermilk Sauce: 7. 1 c. sugar 8. 1/2 c. buttermilk 9. 1 Tbsp. white corn syrup 10. 1 tsp. vanilla 11. 1/4 c. butter 12. Mix all the ingredients together and bring to boil; remove from heat and let cool and put on cake. Serve warm. |
