This a delicious applesauce cake, homemade applesauce is the best - and it's so easy to make - Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup butter |
1 egg |
1 cup dates, sliced fine |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon clove |
2 cups flour |
2 cups applesauce |
1 cup nuts, coarsely chopped |
1 cup raisins, chopped |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar. Add well beaten egg, vanilla and the rest of the ingredients. Mix. Turn into well buttered pan. Bake slowly in moderate oven, 350F for 1 hour.
