Ingredients:
8 medium cooking apples (2 1/2 pounds), peeled, cored, and quartered |
1/2 cup water |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
vanilla ice cream |
Directions:
1. Combine apples and water in a large saucepan. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 20 minutes or until apples are tender. Mash apples. 2. Add sugar and vanilla, stirring until sugar dissolves. Serve warm or cold, and top with ice cream. |
