This is a great side dish that goes great with pork and chicken. I like it as a snack and have been known to eat it for breakfast with pancakes. Yummy Ingredients:
8 slices bacon |
8 tart cooking apples peeled cored and cubed |
3 tablespoons brown sugar |
1 teaspoon grated fresh nutmeg |
Directions:
1. Fry bacon until crisp. 2. Keep warm in the oven while apples cook. 3. Discard all but 2 tablespoons of the bacon fat. 4. Sauté apples uncovered in remaining bacon fat for 8 minutes. 5. Sprinkle with sugar and nutmeg. 6. Arrange apples on a platter surrounded by bacon. |
