Ingredients:
farm-fresh cider (equal parts) |
store-bought eggnog (equal parts) |
nutmeg |
Directions:
1. Pour equal parts farm-fresh cider and store-bought eggnog into a shaker and give it a good shake. Pour into a highball glass fresh from the freezer and dust a bit of nutmeg on top. 2. In the autumn, this is my favorite drink to fix when I finally get home and get to relax, says Joy Perrine, a fifth-generation bartender who now works at Jack's Lounge in Louisville, Ky. and has won three Brown-Forman drink-invention contests. Perrine has two cautions about the recipe, though: Use the processed eggnog mix, like Dean's or Kroger brand, so you're not taking a chance with unprocessed eggs, she says. And don't mix the drink in large quantities, because the acid in the cider breaks down the eggnog pretty quickly. Just make a cup or two at a time. |
