My mother always made this for my picky little brother. He wouldn't eat real fruit. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups white sugar |
1 teaspoon cream of tartar |
2 cups water |
21 buttery round crackers |
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
2 tablespoons butter |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2. In a medium saucepan, mix together sugar, cream of tartar, and water. Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute. Drop in buttery round crackers, boil 2 minutes longer. 3. Pour cracker mixture into pie shell. Sprinkle with cinnamon and dot with butter. 4. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. |
