This is a very delicious dessert for anyone that has to watch their sugar intake - it's made with Splenda - and so-o-o-o good!! Ingredients:
1 cup flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup calorie reduced margarine |
2 eggs |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
3/4 cup splenda sugar substitute |
1 large apple, unpeeled, grated |
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce |
1/3 cup walnuts, chopped, divided |
Directions:
1. Stir together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt; set aside. beat margarine until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Beat in Splenda for about 1 minute. Add flour mixture, apple and applesauce; beat until well blended, Stir in walnuts. 2. Spread evenly in greased 8-inch square baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining nuts. Bake at 350F for about 40 minutes or until tester comes out clean, Cool, Cut into bars. |
