If you love apples, this is the cake for you. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup whipping cream |
1/2 cup pecans, chopped (optional) |
3 medium green apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced (or apples of your choice) |
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup sugar |
2 large eggs |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
2 1/2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 teaspoon apple pie spice |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 10 inch bundt pan. 2. Melt 1/2 cup butter in a saucepan on medium heat. Add brown sugar and whipping cream; stirring constantly for 2-3 minutes until sugar is dissolved. Be careful not to boil. Add pecans (if desired) and apples and cook until apples soften, about 2-3 minutes. 3. Pour in bundt pan. 4. Cream 1/2 cup butter and sugar at medium speed with a mixer. Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each. Add vanilla; beat well. Combine flour and the next 4 ingredients; stir well. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with milk; start and end with flour mixture; mix well after each addition. 5. Spoon batter evenly over apples. 6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool in pan 5-10 minutes; invert cake onto a serving plate. |
