1/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1 pinch salt |
4 teaspoons shortening |
1 tablespoon ice water |
1 medium tart apple, peeled and sliced |
1 teaspoon sugar |
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
milk |
2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar |
1 teaspoon corn syrup |
1 pinch salt |
1/2 teaspoon hot water |
Directions:
1. In a small bowl, combine flour and salt; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 2. Sprinkle with ice water and toss with a fork. 3. Form into a ball. 4. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 7-inch circle. 5. Place apple slices on half of the circle; sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. 6. Fold dough over filling, sealing edges with fingers or pressing with a fork. 7. Brush with milk. 8. Prick top with a fork. 9. Place on a greased baking sheet. 10. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minute or until golden brown. 11. Combine glaze ingredients until smooth; drizzle over turnover. |
