APPLE TAPIOCA This is a recipe I obtained from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Crawford Estate in Quinlan, Texas in 1982. Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup quick cooking tapioca |
2-1/2 cups boiling water |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
3 cups sliced pared cored apples |
cream |
Directions:
1. Combine sugar, salt and tapioca in a double boiler. 2. Add boiling water while stirring and cook over hot water until tapioca is transparent. 3. Add nutmeg and apples then pour into a greased covered baking dish. 4. Bake at 350 for 1 hour and 15 minutes then serve hot or cold with cream. |
