These are a nice treat to make in the Fall. They also freeze well. Ingredients:
2 c. sugar |
1 1/2 c. crisco |
2 eggs |
2 t. vanilla |
3 c. flour |
1 t. soda |
1 t. cinnamon |
1 t. salt |
1 c. nuts-chopped |
3 c. finely chopped apples |
Directions:
1. 1. Combine sugar, crisco, eggs and vanilla, beat well. 2. 2. Sift together dry ingredients and alternately add dry ingredients and the chopped apples and nuts. 3. 3. Bake in a jellyroll pan at ~325 for 45 minutes. 4. Frost with a powdered sugar and butter icing. |
