Eggless bar that you could add chopped apples to if you like but they are great just like they are with coffee or a cold glass of milk. From a Door County Wisconsin B&B cookbook. Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1 cup unsweetened applesauce |
1/2 cup butter |
2 cups sifted flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon |
1 teaspoon nutmeg |
1 dash ground cloves |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup raisins |
1 cup chopped nuts |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
3 tablespoons sugar |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients except those for the topping. 2. Mix well with a mixer. 3. Spread intoa greased jelly roll pan. 4. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over top of batter. 5. Bake at 350 until lightly browned, 25-35 minutes. 6. Cool slightly and cut into squares. |
