This recipe comes from a little book called ABC Jiffy Cookery. I've had it for over 50 years. I haven't tried any of the recipes yet. I'm putting them here so I can find them easier. Ingredients:
4 apples, pared and diced |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 lemon, rind of, finely chopped |
3 cups hot water |
1/2 cup red wine or 1/2 cup white wine |
2 tablespoons flour |
2 tablespoons cold water |
1/2 cup heavy cream |
Directions:
1. Combine apples, sugar, lemon rind, and hot water. Cook until apples are tender. Add wine. Blend flour and cold water. Thin with a few tablespoons of hot soup. Simmer 5 minutes. Chill, and add cream before serving. |
