You will need an oven-proof skillet for this dish. Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
4 tablespoons butter |
6 apples, peeled, cored and diced |
1 1/2 cups buttermilk biscuit mix |
1/4 cup sugar |
3/4-1 cup milk |
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated |
Directions:
1. Heat the butter and 1 cup sugar in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat. 2. Add the apples and continue cooking until the sugar is melted and forms an amber-colored syrup. 3. In bowl, mix the biscuit mix with the 1/4 cup sugar and grated cheese. 4. Add enough milk to form a soft dough. 5. Spoon dough over the apple mixture and bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes or until top is lightly browned. |
