Ingredients:
3 cups unsweetened apple cider |
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar |
1 tablespoon reduced-calorie margarine |
3 whole cloves |
2 (3-inch) sticks cinnamon |
1 whole nutmeg, halved |
6 lemon slices |
1/2 cup spiced rum |
2 tablespoons amaretto |
lemon slices (optional) |
Directions:
1. Combine first 6 ingredients in a heavy saucepan; bring to a boil, and cook, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Add 6 lemon slices; reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove and discard cloves, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, and lemon. Remove from heat; stir in rum and amaretto. Garnish each serving with a lemon slice, if desired. Serve immediately. |
