Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
2 eggs |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1 cup evaporated milk |
2 tablespoons rum |
2 cups chopped apples |
1 cup raisins |
chopped nuts (optional) |
Directions:
1. In a bowl cream the butter, then beat in the sugars until light and fluffy. 2. Beat in the eggs. 3. Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, soda, cinnamon and nutmeg. 4. Add dry ingredients alternately with the undiluted evaporated milk and rum to the creamed mixture, Mix in the chopped apples, raisins and nuts. 5. Pour into a greased 9x12x2 inch baking pan. 6. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until cake springs back when done. |
