This cake is my all time favorite cake, my grandmother has made this for me as long as i can remember for my birthday and now i make it just as good :) I'm telling you, it's fabulous, you can actually substitute the sugar with splenda and it is good as well. Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. cooking oil (wesson) |
2 c. sugar |
3 eggs |
3 c. flour |
1 tsp. salt |
1 tsp. soda |
2 tsp. vanilla |
3 lg. apples, cut into sm. pieces |
sauce for apple pound cake |
1 stick butter |
2 tsp. milk |
1/2 c. light brown sugar |
Directions:
1. Combine the oil, sugar and eggs and beat for three minutes. 2. Add flour, salt, soda and vanilla. 3. Fold in apples. 4. Bake in greased tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20-30 minutes. 5. Cool and pour on sauce. 6. SAUCE FOR APPLE POUND CAKE: 7. Cook all ingredients about 15 minutes. Pour on cake. |
