Another apple recipe. Ingredients:
1/3 cup water |
1/3 cup butter or margarine |
1 1/3 cup sugar, divided |
2 tubes (8 ounces each) refrigerated cresent rolls |
3 cups finely chopped peeled tart apples |
1 teaspoon apple pie spice |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter and 1 cup sugar; cook over medium heat until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved. 2. Set aside. 3. Unroll crescent dough into one oblong rectangle; seal seams and perforations. Combine the apples, apple pie spice and remaining sugar; sprinkle over dough to within 1 inch of edges. 4. Roll up, jelly-roll style, starting with a long side. 5. Cut into 1-inch rolls; place in a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. 6. Pour reserved syrup over rolls. 7. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. 8. Serve warm. 9. Yield: 2 dozen |
