A surprisingly delicious twist on apple pie! Ingredients:
1 frozen pillsbury pie crust, thawed and formed to a 10-inch pie plate |
2 large anjou pears |
3 medium apples |
2 tablespoons flour |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 cup plain yogurt |
1 large egg |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/4 cup sugar |
1/4 cup flour |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
2 tablespoons butter |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400. 2. Partially bake the pie crust. 3. Chop and peel and pears and apples into bite-sized chunks. 4. Combine all other filling ingredients (flour, sugar, yogurt, egg, nutmeg, vanilla) in a large mixing bowl. 5. Fold in the fruit. 6. Pour mixture into the pie crust, and bake at 400 for 15 minutes. 7. While baking, mix topping ingredients (sugar, flour, cinnamon, and butter) together. 8. Lower the oven temperature to 350 and add topping to pie. Bake for at least another 30 minutes or more, until custard filling is getting set and topping is browned. |
