This recipe came from my grandmother she made it with love for her family and passed down the recipe to my parents. Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
6 tablespoons crisco shortening |
4 teaspoons baking powder |
2 tablespoons sugar |
2/3 cup milk |
mixture for filling |
2-1/2 cups chopped apples |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 cup sugar |
2 tablespoons butter |
frosting |
2 tablespoons hot water |
1-1/2 cups confectioners sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Sift flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Cut in shortening until mixture is the consistency of small peas. Add milk. Then roll out on well floured board to 1/2-inch thickness. Spread with filling mixture. Fold sides over and seal. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. 2. Combine frosting ingredients. Spread it on pastry while hot. |
