3/4 cup sugar |
1/4 cup shortening, softened |
1 egg, beaten |
1/2 cup milk |
1 1/2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/8 teaspoon clove |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
2 tablespoons flour |
2 tablespoons butter, melted |
1 cup apple, filling |
3 tablespoons honey |
3 tablespoons butter, softened |
3/4 cup walnuts |
Directions:
1. 1st layer:. 2. Beat sugar and shortenig until creamy; add egg; mix. 3. Stir in milk. 4. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves twice. 5. Add to milk mixture. 6. Spread 1/2 batter into a greased floured 9 inch pan. 7. Sprinkle with 2nd layer. 8. Cover with remaining batter. 9. Scatter 3rd layer. 10. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 to 45 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. |
