APPLE JELLY TURKEY MEATBALLS IN THE CROCK POT This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Wheeler Estate in Balch Springs, Texas in 1982. A nice addition to any party or buffet. Read more . These are easy to make and very tasty. Enjoy Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups barbecue sauce |
10 ounces apple jelly |
2 tablespoons tapioca |
1 tablespoon vinegar |
1 egg beaten |
1/4 cup fine seasoned bread crumbs |
2 tablespoons milk |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon onion powder |
1 pound ground turkey |
nonstick vegetable spray |
Directions:
1. In crock pot stir together barbecue sauce, jelly, tapioca and vinegar. 2. Cover and cook on high while preparing meatballs. 3. In large bowl combine egg, breadcrumbs, milk, garlic powder, salt and onion powder. 4. Add ground turkey and mix well then shape into meatballs. 5. Spray a nonstick skillet then add meatballs and brown on all sides over medium heat. 6. Drain meatballs then add to crock pot and stir gently. 7. Cover and cook on high heat setting for 2 hours. |
