The word fritter comes from the Latin frying by way of Old French and Middle English. The American apple fritter is unlike the British one . Fritters ( (such as yam, sweet potato and banana ) are extremely popular road side snacks all over South Asia and are commonly referred to as Pakora / Pakoda or Bhaji . Ingredients:
batter |
100 g flour and salt , sifted |
1 tsp cinnamon |
6 oz warm water |
2 tbsp olive oil |
2 egg whites , whisked until peaks form |
2 apples , chunked |
decorate |
cinnamon pwd |
caster sugar |
sauce ( optional ) |
100 ml yogurt and 3 tsp golden syrup , mixed |
Directions:
1. Dip the apples in batter and fry in batches until golden and puffy . 2. Sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar . 3. Serve with the sauce ( optional ) . |
