Ethnic Difficult to say how many this makes. I double the recipe &just cut up some apples & go from there!!! This is different in that they are boiled not baked. Worth making- so good Ingredients:
3 1/4 cups flour |
1 egg |
salt about 1/2 cup water |
1/2 lb apples, peeled, cored and cut up in small pieces |
1 1/2 tbsp. butter |
1 1/2 tbsp. bread crumbs |
1/3 cup powdered sugar |
Directions:
1. Combine flour with the egg, dash of salt, and as much water as kneaded to knead a smooth , loose dough. 2. Roll out on a floured board 1/4 in. thick 3. Cut out small circles. 4. Place a piece of apple in center of each circle 5. Fold over.Seal edges and roll in the palm of your hands. 6. Cook in large kettle with salted boiling water until they float to top. 7. Transfer to platter 8. Add bread crumbs to butter and fry for 1 minute. 9. Pour over dumplings 10. Sprinkle with powdered sugar |
