Faye's recipe Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
4 tablespoons shortening, heaping |
3/4 cup milk |
apple |
1 cup sugar |
1 1/2 cups water |
butter |
Directions:
1. MIX FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, SALT, AND SHORTENING TOGETHER. 2. ADD MILK, AND ROLL 1/8 INCH THICK. 3. CUT IN 7 INCH SQUARES. SLICE APPLES, PUT IN CENTER OF EACH SQUART. 4. TOP WITH SUGAR, CINNAMON, BUTTER AND SEAL. 5. MIX 1 CUP SUGAR, 1 1/2 CUPS WATER AND A LITTLE BUTTER. 6. BOIL FOR A FEW MINUTES. 7. POUR OVER DUMPLINGS. 8. BAKE AT 325 DEGREES FOR 40-45 minutes. |
