This is a wonderful dessert for serving warm, topped with vanilla ice cream. I often make this recipe during apple season, when I usually have an abundance of apples on hand. Ingredients:
4 cups diced apples, peeled |
2 cups sugar |
2 cups flour |
1/2 cup vegetable oil |
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce |
1 cup walnuts, chopped |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
1 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In a large bowl, mix apples and sugar together. 3. Add rest of the dry ingredients and the nuts. 4. Add oil and applesauce; mix well and pour into a greased 9 x13 baking pan. Bake for 35-45 minutes. |
