A special dessert and healthy too Ingredients:
4 green apples, peeled, quartered and cored |
2 tbsp sugar |
1/2 cup water |
crumble |
1/2 cup rolled oats |
1/4 cup plain flour |
1/2 cup desiccated coconut |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/2 tsp cinnamon |
50g butter |
Directions:
1. Preheat a moderate oven. 2. Peel and core apple and chop into wedges. Place apples, sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer for 10-12 minutes or until soft. Remove from heat, mash with potato masher and pour into a 20 X 30cm oven dish. 3. Melt butter in a small saucepan. Add rolled oats, coconut, flour, sugar and cinnamon; stir to combine. Lay over apples and press down with a spoon. 4. Bake in a moderate oven for 20 minutes or until browned. 5. Serve with cream or ice cream. |
