Ingredients:
3 pound(s) tart apples |
2 tablespoon(s) lemon juice |
1/2 cup(s) brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon(s) cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon(s) nutmeg |
1/3 cup(s) all-purpose flour |
1/3 cup(s) granulated sugar |
1/3 cup(s) rolled oats |
4 tablespoon(s) cold butter |
1/2 cup(s) chopped walnuts or pecans |
Directions:
1. Peel, core and chop apples 2. Toss in a bowl with lemon juice 3. In a seperate bowl combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg 4. Stir into apples and set aside 5. In another bowl combine flour, sugar, and oats 6. Cut butter into 8 pieces, and cut butter into flour until mixture looks like crumbs 7. Stir in nuts 8. Butter a 10 X 10-inch baking dish 9. Spread apples in bottom of baking dish and sprinkle with flour mixture 10. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes, or until apples are tender and topping is lightly browned 11. Serve warm or at room temp |
