My family can't get enough of this. Ingredients:

8 cups sliced peeled tart apples (about 8 medium) |
                                                3/4 cup sugar |
                                                1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
                                                1/8 teaspoon salt |
                                                1/2 cup quick-cooking oats |
                                                1/2 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar |
                                                1/4 teaspoon baking powder |
                                                1/8 teaspoon baking soda |
                                                3 tablespoons cold butter |

                    Directions:

                                1. In a large bowl, toss the first four ingredients. Pour into a greased 8 inch square baking dish. In a bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder and baking soda. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over apple mixture. 2. Bake at 350°F for 55 to 60 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden. Serve warm with ice cream if desired. Recipe can easily be doubled for a crowd. This recipe yields 10 servings. |
