This recipe came from my Aunt Betty (yes, I had an aunt named Betty; yes, she made Apple Crisp; yes, I was reluctant to title the recipe 'Apple Brown Betty' or Aunt Betty's Apple Crisp for fear people wouldn't believe me). This recipe is similar to Apple Torte (Easy-Only 3 Apples) but with enough differences to make it unique. Ingredients:
8 apples (use your favorite variety or a mixture of varieties) |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 cup water |
1 cup sugar |
3/4 cup flour |
6 teaspoons butter |
Directions:
1. Core and cut up apples and place in buttered baking dish. 2. Sprinkle cinnamon and add water. 3. In a bowl, mix sugar, flour and butter until crumbly. 4. Spread dry mixture over apples. 5. Bake 350 degrees for 45 minutes. 6. Cool 10 mins before serving. |
