Just like grandma used to make.. as good as apple pie but better without the crust Ingredients:
6 -8 medium baking apples (tart) |
1 cup sugar |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
3/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 cup butter (a little additional for baking dish) |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Peel core and chop apples. Place in buttered 9 inch baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients. Pack closely over apples. Using a fork poke holes all over the crisp to break it apart (or it will be a crunchy layer like peanut brittle) Place on cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour or until bubbly. |
