Here's another great Thanksgiving pie....and it is a beautiful one, too. Apples studded with craberry rubies! Another one of my favorites. Ingredients:
6 cups tart apples, peeled, cored & sliced |
1 1/4 cups fresh cranberries |
2 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/4 cup flour |
1 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/4 teaspoon ginger |
1 tablespoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon cloves |
1/3 cup sugar |
2/3 cup flour |
6 tablespoons butter, softened |
Directions:
1. Mix together apples, cranberries, butter, sugar, flour, numeg, ginger, cinnamon & cloves and pour into prepared single pie crust. 2. Mix topping ingredients (1/3 cup sugar, 2/3 cup flour and 6 T butter) together so that the mixture crumbles. Put topping on top of fruit in crust. 3. Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours. |
