Good Housekeeping's Clock-Watchers cookbook, 1967 Ingredients:
1 package corn bread or corn muffing mix |
3/4 cup diced pared apple |
9 thin unpared apple slices |
melted butter or margarine |
Directions:
1. About 30 minutes before serving: Preheat oven to 400 degreees. 2. Prepare mix as package directs for corn bread. Quickly fold in diced apple. Pour into greased 8x8x2 inch baking dish. Lay apple slices on top. Brush with melted butter. 3. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool slightly in pan. cut into squares. |
