A breakfast popover. Ingredients:
1 cup egg, beaters egg substitute |
3/4 cup flour |
1/2 cup applesauce |
1/3 cup buttermilk |
2 tablespoons low-cal margarine, plus |
2 teaspoons low-cal margarine |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
3/4 teaspoon sugar |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
Directions:
1. Melt and cool the margarine. 2. Preheat over to 425F. 3. Spray 4 popover pans 10 oz. 4. size. 5. or jumbo muffin tins with cooking spray. 6. In a blender, combine all ingredients well. 7. Pour 1/4 of the batter into each cup. 8. Set cups on a baking sheet and Bake for 25 min. 9. ,until puffed and golden. 10. Using a knife, cut a slit in the top of each popover to let out steam. 11. Bake for 5 min. 12. more. 13. Serve with butter or jam. 14. Yield: 4 servings. |
