After experimenting with many different recipes, this is by far the best yeast bread with apples and cinnamon! It is a tad putsy , but it is worth the extra time! Hope you enjoy it as much as my family does! Ingredients:
1/4 cup softened butter |
1 large egg, beaten |
1/2 cup skim milk |
1/2 cup water |
1/4 cup sugar |
3 1/2 cups bread flour |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
2 1/4 teaspoons yeast |
1 1/2 cups chopped apples |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1 -2 tablespoon brown sugar (optional) |
1/2 cup raisins (optional) |
Directions:
1. Add ingredients to bread machine in order given and select dough cycle. 2. When cycle is completed remove dough to floured surface. Cover and let rest 10 minutes. 3. Knead filling into dough. If the dough becomes to sticky from the apples add a bit of flour. 4. Shape into loaf and place seam side down in greased 9x5 inch loaf pan. Cover with a towel and place in a warm place until dough rises 1 inch above the pan. 5. Bake on lower rack for 25-30 minutes at 375°F Remove from pan immediately and allow to cool on a wire rack. Rub top crust with cold stick of butter while it is cooling to soften top crust. |
