Nice sweet and fragrant breakfast bread. Ingredients:
1 cup whole wheat flour |
3 cups bread flour |
4 tablespoons butter |
1 tablespoon dry buttermilk |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup cinnamon |
1 cup cooked apples (cooled to room temp) |
2 teaspoons yeast |
1 cup water |
2 tablespoons molasses |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
Directions:
1. To cook my apples I just halve two large apples, skin on, put in a small pot with 1/4 water.. turn on lowest possible heat and cover tightly. Simmer until mushy, but still chunky.. remove skins and seeds. 2. As with most recipes I have, my ingredients are organic when possible. I don't know how much of a difference this makes in the recipe, but I think worth pointing out as some things cook differently when organic. 3. I have a Zojirushi 2lb bread machine. This loaf is very large, you may need to modify if you have a smaller machine. 4. Add all ingredients, set the timer, and wait. 5. YUMMIE!!! Serve warm with a small spread of butter and a glass or organic milk. |
