A dense, chewy, slightly sweet soda bread variation I came up with on my own after I was gifted a few too many hard ciders! Basically a variation on Irish Soda Beer Bread, but I hadn't seen anything else like it! Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour |
4 teaspoons baking powder |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
2 tablespoons sugar |
12 ounces hard alcoholic cider |
1/2 cup applesauce |
1/2 cup water |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375. 2. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar a total of 3 times. 3. Add wet ingredients. 4. Mix by hand until thoroughly blended. 5. Pour into greased baking pan. 6. Bake for 45 minutes. |
