Here is something just a little different. If you like Applebutter and/or Jam you will enjoy this. I got this recipe from my Mother in law and sold out of it the first trip to farmers market. Ingredients:
1 quart apple cider |
2/3 cup red hots red cinnamon candies |
1 (1 3/4 ounce) package dry pectin |
5 cups sugar |
Directions:
1. In a large pot, combine the cider, candy, and pectin. 2. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat, stirring often. 3. Add sugar and return to a rolling boil. 4. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. 5. Remove from the heat and skim off any foam. 6. Carefully ladle hot jelly into sterilized half-pint jars, leaving 1/4 in headspace. 7. Adjust caps. 8. Process for 10 minutes in a boiling water bath. |
