Apple Cake with a Crumble Topping |

Maybe the apples could be sliced thinly instead of shredded. Ingredients:
8 -10 apples, shredded |
1 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon lemon juice |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup soft butter or 1 cup margarine |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 pinch salt |
3 cups flour |
Directions:
1. Fruit Filling: Mix Apples with other ingredients and set aside. 2. Dough: Cream together margarine and sugar. 3. Mix in the rest of the ingredients. 4. Press 1/2 of the dough into a greased 9 X 13- inch pan. 5. Pour fruit on top. 6. Crumble rest of dough on top. 7. Bake for 1- 1/4 hours at 350 degrees F. |
