I love apples as a snack , but when it comes to Granny Smith apples .... it's a baker's best friend . This cake is full of moist and lotsa flavour packed in . EnJoY !!! Ingredients:
300 g flour , 1 tsp baking pwd , 1 tsp baking soda , 1 tsp cinnamom , 1 tsp ginger - sifted |
150 g butter |
100 g golden brown sugar |
30 g caster sugar |
3 eggs |
3 granny smith apples , chopped finely |
300 ml butter milk |
150 g sultanas |
topping |
100 g flour , 1 tsp nutmeg , 1 tsp cinnamon pwd , 75 g sugar , 50 g chilled butter - rub till it resembles thick crumbs . |
stir in 100 b pecans . |
Directions:
1. Pre heat oven at 180 deg . 2. Cream the butter and the sugar . 3. Beat the eggs in . 4. Fold in the apples and the sifted flour . 5. Fold in the sultanas and butter milk , mix well . 6. Pour into a 21 cm greased cake tin . 7. Sprinkle on the topping and lightly pat it down . 8. Bake for 1 hour or so 9. Dust some Icing sugar . |
