This is a wonderfully easy cake with great flavour using mostly stuff from the pantry! And it freezes very well!! Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1 yellow cake mix |
1/2 cup coconut |
2 14 oz. cans apple sauce |
1/2 cup white sugar |
1 tsp. cinnamon |
1 cup sour cream |
2 egg yolks |
Directions:
1. Cut butter into cake mix until crumbly. Mix in coconut. Pat into greased 9 x 13 pan (I use spring form for nicer presentation), building up the edges slightly. Bake at 350 F for 10 minutes. 2. Spread apple sauce over warm crust. Mix sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apple sauce. 3. Blend sour cream and egg yolks and drizzle over apple sauce. (Sour cream and yolk mixture doesn't completely cover apple sauce). 4. Bake at 350 F for 25 minutes. Serve warm. |
