Ingredients:
2 cups brown sugar, packed |
2/3 cup butter or margarine |
2 eggs |
1 tsp vanilla |
2 cups flour |
1/4 cup cocoa |
2 tsp baking powder |
1/4 tsp salt |
1 cup nuts, chopped |
2 cups frozen apples, finely chopped (do not thaw) |
icing |
2 tbsp butter or margarine |
1 cup powdered sugar |
1 tsp vanilla |
2 tbsp evaporated milk or cream |
Directions:
1. Instructions: Cream brown sugar and margarine with mixer. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Stir in chopped apples and nuts. Spread into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees. 2. Icing: Brown butter slightly; remove from heat. Sift sugar and add to butter. Add vanilla and milk. Stir, drizzle over cooled brownies. |
