My college roomy always love the sweet breads. This apple bread is moist, sweet and loaded with texture. It cools in the foil. Won't hold you up in the kitchen. Ingredients:
1 cup crisco oil |
1 tsp vanilla |
2 cups sugar |
3 eggs |
3 cups flour |
1 tsp salt |
1 tsp soda |
1 tsp cinnamon |
3 1/2 cups apples |
1 cup chopped nuts |
sugar for dusting |
Directions:
1. Hand mix the crisco oil, vanilla, and sugar. 2. Add the eggs, flour, salt, soda and cinnamon. Mix well together. 3. Then add the apples and the nuts. 4. The batter will be very stiff. 5. Bake in 300 degree oven, in greased loaf pans, for 1 1/2 hr. 6. When baked, remove from pans immediately. 7. Sprinkle with either white sugar or powered sugar and wrap in foil to cool. 8. Leave in foil until ready to use. |
