This is a slow cooker recipe, though it can be easily adaptedbybaking it or over the stovetop method. Makes for a great vegetable side dish. Oven baking time I do not have. Ingredients:
4 tablespoons butter |
2 large granny smith apples, peeled, and cubed |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup ketchup |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 tablespoon molasses |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 (24 ounce) can great northern beans, undrained |
1 (24 ounce) can pinto beans, undrained |
ham, chunks (optional) |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in skillet. Add apples and cook until tender. 2. Stir in brown sugar, and sugar. Cook until they melt. 3. Stir in ketchup, cinnamon, molasses, and salt. 4. Add beans and ham chunks, and mix well. 5. Pour into a slow cooker, or a 9x13 inch baking dish. 6. Cover `and cook on high for 2-4 hours in the slow cooker. |
