Apples and oatmeal go so well together! (Adopted recipe) Ingredients:
1 3/4 cups rolled oats (old-fashioned oats) |
1 1/2 cups flour |
3/4 cup margarine |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed |
2 1/2 cups sliced apples (or more) |
2 tablespoons margarine |
1/2 cup sugar |
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, mix together oats, flour, margarine, baking soda and brown sugar. 2. Blend well. 3. Spread half of the oats mixture in a greased 9 x 9-inch baking pan. 4. Press down firmly. 5. In a separate bowl, combine apples, 2 T. 6. margarine, sugar and cinnamon. 7. Spread over the oats mixture in the pan. 8. Cover with remaining oats mixture. 9. Bake at 375° F for 40-45 minutes. 10. Cut into bars. |
