A free recipe my child grabbed at the grocery store. Ingredients:
1 (8 -9 lb) fully cooked bone-in spiral-cut ham |
18 -20 whole cloves |
2 tablespoons butter |
2 apples, peeled, cored and sliced (such as fuju or braeburn) |
2/3 cup apple jelly |
2 tablespoons safeway select seasoned rice vinegar |
1 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard |
Directions:
1. 1. preheat oven to 275 degrees. Remove ham from wrapper and place cut side down in large roasting or baking pan. Stud ham with cloves. Cover tightly with foil and bake 1 hour, 20 minutes (10 minutes per pound). 2. 2. Meanwhile, in a medium skillet melt butter over medium heat. Add apples, cook and stir 2 minutes. Stir in jelly, vinegar and mustard; cook 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until slightly thickened. Remove skillet from heat; set aside. 3. 3. Remove ham from oven: raise heat to 375 degrees. Uncover ham and spoon apple mixture over ham. Return ham to oven; bake, uncovered, 20 minutes or until glaze and apples are golden. |
